Information
Silver Beach Hotel is combining the Dodekanise islands architectural with the Greek traditional hospitality.
Silver Beach hotel is located in the southeastern part of Patmos, at the picturesque Grikos bay. Included among the most beautiful bays in the world (world-bays.com), its natural surroundings fascinate visitors and take them back to an unforgotten, unspoiled Greece, dominated by shades of blue and white. When the weather is calm, local fishermen almost religiously cast their nets gazing at the Aegean Sea. This place is flooded with the smell of the sea and the fragrance of flowers and herbs. The locals are welcoming and trusting, opening their hearts and houses with no second thoughts.
Sixteen neat rooms, located on the ground or the first floor, either with a view of the sheltered Grikos bay, Tragonisi islet and Kalikatsou rock, or of the quaint mansions with their colorful yards, have been preserved with love and care since 1991. Ten of Silver Beach rooms overlook the peaceful Grikos bay while the other six, on the traditional Patmian houses resting on the hillside. The hotel is surrounded by lush greenery that interrupts the white endlessness, while palm trees add an exotic touch to the picturesque scenery. Peace and quiet are dominant all around, allowing visitors to give in to the generous landscape and drive away the stress of everyday life.
Although the hotel was renovated in 2010, its charming room and their white wooden shutters have kept their authentic character. Besides, it couldn’t have been otherwise, since Patmos is a typical Aegean island. Featuring light-colored wooden furniture, comfortable Coco-Mat mattresses and whitewashed window sills.

Rooms
Double Standard Sea Front
The view from most of Silver Beach hotel rooms looks like a painting. When you open the wooden shutters, the blue horizon unfolds before your eyes, just like a work of art. A typical Greek scene, where the blue is interrupted by the leafy palm trees, the rocky landscape of «Kalikatsou» rock and the deserted Tragonisi Island. A true masterpiece at your feet.
The elegant rooms comprise of a bedroom and a bathroom and combine clean-cut decoration and traditional lines. The white monotony is interrupted by the warm, earthy tones of the wooden furniture. A double bed, two nightstands with a beautiful lamp on top of each and a wooden suite on the other side of the room (where you can find the refrigerator), warmly decorate this 20 sq.m. area. All rooms have their own balcony, including two chairs and a table, where guests may take enjoy the summer breeze.
As you hear the tree leaves rustling in the wind, you can gaze across the sheltered bay through the whitewashed shutters, which adds to your vacation a sense of nostalgia. Greek authenticity in all its glory.
Double Standard Garden View
The view from these rooms resembles that of a picturesque village, resting on a hillside, filled with scattered Patmian mansions. Asymmetrically built and naturally dressed in white, they look down on the Aegean. Some have yards and colorful gardens, round windows and doorways while others are surrounded by lush greenery. All together, they form a landscape of unique beauty.
Inside they look just like the ones facing the sea. These beautiful rooms are further divided into two smaller areas: A bedroom and a bathroom. The decoration, mostly dominated by white, with a few details and wooden furniture in warm, earthy shades, lights up the place. They also include a porch, where visitors are able to relax and enjoy their summer evenings.
Opening the old-fashioned wooden shutters makes you feel that you’ll come across a traditional stone yard, full of flowers and leafy greenery. And most of the times, that is exactly the case.

Dining
Plefsis Traditional Tavern
«Plefsis» traditional tavern, located at Grikos bay is literally found by the sea. You may sink your feet in the sand and feel the sea salt upon you. By day, wherever you choose to sit, you gaze across the vast Aegean, the still boats and the famous «Kalikatsou» rock. Seagulls fly around Grikos bay and land right next to your feet. By night, you are able to gaze at the countless stars upon the clear sky, over the motionless sea. In the background, you listen to Greek music while fine seafood arrives at your table.
It is a purely traditional tavern, full of colors and fragrances. Everything here is authentic. Lined-up tin pots of basil pave the way to your table. Chairs and shutters colored in shades of pink and white, windows painted in blue and leafy plants adorn the place. As you come close, you take a look at the famous daily special written on the blackboard, tickling your nose before you’ve even picked a table.
The menu is exactly what comes to mind when you see the tavern from afar: fresh sea food and local produce. The fine ingredients include fresh fish, local meat, seafood and all sorts of delicacies, local vegetable and herbs from their garden as well as seasonal fruit. Thier daily hotpot dishes are homey recipes and their traditional desserts have created a circle of loyal customers who seek authentic Mediterranean cuisine in the island of Patmos.
